With draws held every single day, including banking holidays, it is no wonder that the Irish Daily Million lottery has become a crowd favourite throughout Ireland.
In this guide, we will look at what this great game has to offer and show how you can buy Irish Daily Million tickets online.
About Irish Daily Million
Irish Daily Million came into existence to fill the void left by two discontinued lottery games (Monday Million and All or Nothing).
It was launched in 2012 and quickly became one of the more popular Irish lotteries available.
The game is offed by the National Lottery. This is the state-run organisation responsible for all lotteries available in the Republic of Ireland.
Irish Daily Million Draws
Irish Daily Million offers plenty of chances to win, as it holds two draws every day at 2 pm and 9 pm IST. These occur even on banking holidays.
During each of these sessions, two draws take place. The first is the Irish Daily Millions results, and the second is for Irish Daily Millions Plus. We will explain this add-on in more depth later on.
For each draw, six numbers are drawn. After this, a seventh ‘Bonus’ ball will be drawn. This number is used to determine second, fourth and sixth-tier winners.
How to Play Irish Daily Million
The game uses a very simple single-matrix (6/39) format. This means that there is no unique number that you will need to select aside from your main numbers.
Instead, you will need to only select six numbers from the number pool ranging between 1 and 39.
If you want to, you can also opt to play using a quick pick ticket.
A single play costs just €1 when purchased within Ireland, and you will be charged €1 extra for each additional line of play.
If you are willing to pay an extra €0.50 per line, you can also choose to play with Irish Daily Million Plus.
This add-on allows you to use your same ticket for the second draw in each session. This draw boasts another jackpot and an additional six prize tiers that you could win on.
Irish Daily Million Prizes and Odds
To hit the jackpot, you will need to match all six numbers with those drawn.
As you may have guessed from the lottery’s name, the maximum and minimum jackpot is capped at €1 million.
This is very little compared to some other European lotteries such as the Portugal Totoloto. However, your odds of winning the jackpot with Irish Daily Million are pretty great at only 1 in 3,262,623.
These are even better than Italy MillionDAY, which has odds of 1 in 3,478,761.
Sadly, the Irish Daily Million jackpot is pari-mutuel. This means that it will be shared equally amongst any winners in that draw. So, if four people win the jackpot, each will only receive €250,000.
Aside from the €1 million jackpot, there are an additional six prize tiers:
Numbers Matched | Odds of Winning | Estimated Prize |
6 | 1 in 3,262,623 | €1 million |
5 + Bonus | 1 in 543,771 | €10,000 |
5 | 1 in 16,993 | €500 |
4 + Bonus | 1 in 6,797 | €100 |
4 | 1 in 439 | €25 |
3 + Bonus | 1 in 329 | €10 |
3 | 1 in 33 | €3 |
Aside from the prizes listed above, you may also be able to claim from the additional seven tiers offered by Irish Daily Million Plus. This is, however, only if you chose to play with the add-on enabled.
Unfortunately, there are no published odds of winning. However, it is safe to assume that the odds of winning are the same as the main draw due to both draws using the same numbers and tickets.
The seven Irish Daily Million Plus tiers are listed below:
Numbers Matched | Odds of Winning | Estimated Prize |
6 | 1 in 3,262,623 | €500,000 |
5 + Bonus | 1 in 543,771 | €5,000 |
5 | 1 in 16,993 | €250 |
4 + Bonus | 1 in 6,797 | €50 |
4 | 1 in 439 | €15 |
3 + Bonus | 1 in 329 | €5 |
3 | 1 in 33 | €2 Scratch Card |
